If Brown is going to give away 33 signed copies of The Lost Symbol, why he wants us to call the number on the book jacket? Because there’s nothing on the front cover, but if it is on the back cover, then we sooner or later have to wait the book to be released.

C’mon. We all know that the quiz is a publicity stunt. The game was fun. I’m sure it is much more fun to play the game through rather look for spoilers here.

The “solution” you gave us only works once. Everytime you play the game it comes up in a different order. So, unless you leave the question and the symbol, it’s not much help. Not that the game was that hard….Gosh, what’s the symbol for infinity? Or a Octothorpe?LOL Easy stuff…but I’m really horrible at cryptology, so I’m not even trying for the free book.

@Kate: “unless you leave the question and the symbol” I can’t understand actually. I solved the game 4 times, and all 33 question are the same. Why would you need to leave the question? You open a new browser window or tab to browse to this page!

“Everytime you play the game it comes up in a different order” of course it does. What you need to do is to search for the correct answer. (Ctrl + F in firefox)

Some of the questions were difficult for me, as I am neither American, nor a Christian, (so had no idea about the fish), and had to use some other techniques like POE (Process of Elimination).

    Sajid,

I missed a couple at first (so embarrassing, I’m a musician and had to “think” about demisemiquaver!LOL) so I had to start over. That’s when I noticed that they weren’t in the same order each time. I wasn’t sure what Langdon’s favorite symbol was, either. All thirty three symbols were the same, as were the questions, but they were in a different order…I’m just sayin…

The fish I knew, because of early training in ancient greek. (I STILL hate parsing Greek! The HARDEST language (for me) to parse!) The Om, musical rest note, etc., were pretty easy.

I even know the masonic alphabet (I’m a member of a male/female Masonic Temple), but I can’t make the masonic alphabet make any sense in English. Which, I suppose, means you’re supposed to be REALLY smart and not publicly educated at U.S. schools!LOL

Personally, I’m blaming fasting for my poor gaming ability at the moment. Ramadan’s ALMOST over! Where did the time go?

Good job on solving, though! It must be hard if it’s not you’re first language. I’m American…I only know ONE language!LOL (Not completely true, but true enough)

OMG this is so damn easy!! The code!!! Dan Brown’s secret message is encoded using the mason’s tehnique described in the book! (without the magic squares). Dan you are a genius! (or the cover maker :D )

Ok so after 5 minutes I solved ALL of the codes. In the US book version, if you look really hard on the back of the cover, in that kinda arcade it says: ‘AS ABOVE’ and then in the other arcade in the lower corner it says ‘SO BELOW’ in English! If you don’t have the book you can see the inscription with the zoom tool on this site: http://www.darkprotocols.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/lostsymbolbookback.jpg . Now, for the Mason code, on the sides of the book’s back cover there’s a code, and decoded it says: ‘ALL GREAT TRUTHS’ and then in the other corner we read: ‘BEGIN AS BLASPHEMIES’. The 5th code is the hardest. A near-invisible square with some letters near the mason code in the left, it says:
    Y U O E
    M S T D
    I I N H
    R E K Y
Decoded with Albert Duhrer’s 4 square it says: ‘YOUR MIND IS THE KEY’. So, there you have it, all 5 codes of the lost symbol’s cover… Now if I could think of what they mean… :) )

Well done Alex, I still can’t see that. But just well done. Did you try to punch the decrypted cypher in your phone and see if it leads to any number?

in fact the phone number is (212) 7829515, but I can’t call them for 2 reasons: Apparently I am not the only one who thought about this and if you search on google you’ll find lots of sites where they explain the solution. Actually the phone number is made of letters and numbers. For example, you can clearly see a ‘B1′ near the authors name, more exactly near the R letter. There are actually 10 letters and numbers around the book and if you order them alphabetically the result is that phone number. Reason 2: I would have to do a international call and I doubt they would send my book all the way to Europe. If anyone lives in the US go ahead and try it, and tell us if it worked :)
